Booking & Quotes
At Express Cargo, we make shipping simple and transparent. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions from our customers.
Why would I use a freight broker instead of going direct to a carrier?
Express Cargo operates as a freight and logistics manager, not just a traditional broker. We act as your single point of contact from initial enquiry through to delivery and proof of delivery.
Instead of managing multiple carrier relationships, systems, and service levels, you deal with one experienced team that understands your freight requirements and manages everything on your behalf. We work closely with a wide network of carriers and service partners, allowing us to recommend the most suitable option for each shipment based on timing, cost, handling
requirements, and destination.
Because of the freight volumes we manage across our network, we are able to access competitive rates and reliable capacity, with those benefits passed directly on to our customers. This means less administration, clearer communication, and a more efficient freight process — without the need for
you to manage multiple providers.
How do I request a freight quote?
You can request a quote by email, via our website quote form, or through the MiWayne Customer Portal. Portal access allows customers to request quotes and view history in one place.
What information do I need to provide to get a quote?
At minimum we need pickup and delivery locations, freight type (cartons, pallets etc.), the number of items, weights and dimensions (or cubic), and any timeframes or special handling requirements. If your freight is chilled or frozen, temperature requirements must be clearly specified.
How long does it take to receive a quote?
We respond as quickly as possible once we have the information needed to price the job. If your request is urgent or time-critical, note this in your enquiry or call the team so it can be prioritised.
Can I request a specific service when getting a quote?
Yes. If you know what you need (for example Economy vs Express), tell us and we will quote accordingly. If you are unsure, we will recommend the most suitable option based on your freight requirements
What happens after I accept a quote?
Once you accept the quote, we confirm the booking details, arrange carrier allocation and pickup, and manage the movement through to delivery. You will be able to track progress and access proof of delivery once complete.
Can I request quotes for urgent or same-day freight?
Yes. Let us know the required delivery timeframe and any constraints, and we will advise the fastest suitable option, including road, metro, or air where appropriate.
Can you quote recurring or scheduled freight?
Yes. If you have repeat freight lanes or scheduled movements, we can quote and help structure a consistent approach for your regular work.
How do I book a shipment?
You can book by contacting our Customer Services team via email or phone. Some customers also operate under agreed rates or ongoing arrangements, so a new quote is not always required for every booking.
